The Operator does not verify, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy, quality, legality, or authenticity of any listing, product, service, or seller on the Soko marketplace. Listings are posted by users and reflect their own claims.
2.3 User Responsibility
By using the Soko marketplace — whether as a buyer or a seller — you acknowledge and agree that:
- You transact at your own risk. It is your sole responsibility to verify the identity of the other party, inspect goods before payment, and ensure that the transaction meets your expectations.
- You are responsible for your own listings. If you post a listing, you confirm that the information is truthful, the goods or services are lawfully yours to sell, and you have the right to share your contact information publicly.
- You will not use Soko for illegal purposes, including but not limited to fraud, scams, sale of stolen property, counterfeit goods, prohibited items, or any activity that violates Kenyan law.
- You will exercise due diligence before sending money, meeting in person, or entering into any agreement with another user. We strongly recommend meeting in a safe, public location and never sending money in advance to someone you do not know.
2.4 Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Kenyan law, the Operator, William Kipkurui Byegon, shall not be held liable for any loss, damage, injury, fraud, misrepresentation, or dispute arising from or in connection with any transaction, communication, or interaction between users of the Soko marketplace. This includes but is not limited to:
- Financial loss from scams, fraud, or dishonest sellers/buyers
- Loss or damage to goods during or after a transaction
- Disputes over quality, quantity, condition, or description of goods
- Personal injury or harm arising from in-person meetings
- Any breach of agreement between buyer and seller
2.5 Right to Remove Listings
The Operator reserves the right to remove any listing at any time, without notice, for any reason — including but not limited to suspected fraud, illegal content, spam, or complaints from other users.
3. Affiliate Links & Advertising
This site may contain affiliate links and paid advertisements. When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. All affiliate partnerships are clearly marked with an “Ad” label.
The Operator does not guarantee the quality, safety, or suitability of any product or service promoted through affiliate links or advertisements. Purchasing decisions are made at your own discretion.
